History and Accomplishments

• Alabama Association of Nonprofits nonprofit membership has grown to over 750 organizations state-wide since its first year of existence.

• A statewide meeting of nonprofit organizations called “The Nonprofit Summit”, developed in 1997 by NRCA has now grown into a major annual educational conference.

• Alabama Association of Nonprofits has added 4 satellite offices located in Anniston, Dothan, Mobile and Montgomery.

• Alabama Association of Nonprofits successfully established its Management Assistance Services Department in 2001.

• Alabama Association of Nonprofits completed a statewide salary survey of nonprofit organizations which is available to all Alabama Association of Nonprofits members.

• Alabama Association of Nonprofits completed a study of the economic impact of nonprofits on the economy of the State of Alabama.

• Alabama Association of Nonprofits introduced an online grassroots advocacy and messaging system (GiveVoice) in 2001.

• Alabama Association of Nonprofits will be introducing in Fall of 2008 an Employee Benefits Program for our member agencies and their employees.

• Alabama Association of Nonprofits has introduced BoardMatch™ as a new tool for nonprofits and community development organizations to train potential nonoprofit corporate board members and match them with receiving nonprofits.
