John Stone

President and CEO

A native of Tallahasee, Florida, John brings more than 10 years of nonprofit, corporate and political experience to the position. Prior to joining the Alabama Association of Nonprofits, John served as director of community development for Children’s Hospital of Alabama for more than 5 years.

Previous positions also included director of education, workforce and community development for the Birmingham Business Alliance (formally Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce) as well as communications and legislative positions for members of both the U.S. Senate and House in Washington, DC.

He has chaired and served on the boards of many nonprofit organizations during his time in Birmingham. John is married to Molly Dobson Stone, director of student affairs for Association member Restoration Academy in Fairfield, Alabama. They have three daughters and live in Birmingham.

Erin Tumlin

Senior Director, Client Services

Prior to joining the Association in 2002, Erin worked as a field auditor for the State of Alabama. She is a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, and also holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration. She has one son.

Tina Gillespie

Marketing Director

A native of Homewood, Alabama, Tina is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Studies and Economics.  Her introduction to the nonprofit sector was during her internship at Railroad Park in Birmingham where she had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the early development stages of nonprofits and developed a drive for the energetic and serving atmosphere the nonprofit offers. 

For many years she has worked with Camp Winnataska teaching and counseling campers and away from work she enjoys everything outdoors with her Fiancé.  She is an active member of Church of the Highlands.

Josh Cirulnick

Director of Community Outreach and Membership

A two-time graduate of the University of Alabama, Josh Cirulnick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, and a Master of Science degree in public administration. From Atlanta, Georgia, Josh has interests in organizational development and community relations.
