This varied and practical experience gives him a unique perspective in helping organizations with their marketing opportunities.

Session Description
This session dives into the psychology behind effective brand positioning, illustrating why donors and stakeholders respond best when a nonprofit positions itself as the "guide" rather than the "hero." We'll explore what distinguishes a hero from a guide and illustrate how to reshape messaging to support and empower donors and stakeholders.

This workshop combines detailed instruction and collaborative discussions to help participants develop a story that is clear, engaging, and memorable.

In this session, you will:

  • Understand the critical roles in storytelling, including why donors want to be the hero and how positioning your nonprofit as the guide strengthens relationships.
  • Learn how to craft impactful messages using the StoryBrand framework, developing words and phrases that resonate deeply with donors and stakeholders.
  • Participate in a hands-on activity to create a concise, powerful answer to, "What does your nonprofit do?"
  • Leave with a structure for creating a compelling brand narrative that positions your donors and stakeholders as the hero and your organization as the indispensable guide.
