Alabama’s nonprofits are essential partners in public service delivery.
They fill critical gaps where government cannot, providing scalable, cost-effective solutions that strengthen communities and drive economic growth.
These organizations deliver frontline services, foster civic engagement, and develop innovative approaches to long-standing challenges. Yet, policymakers, the media, and even donors lack a comprehensive view of:
- The size and structure of Alabama’s nonprofit sector
- The extent of the state’s reliance on nonprofits for public services
- Where and how these services are delivered
- How public funding flows to nonprofits
- How Alabama compares nationally in funding, scale, and impact
A clearer understanding of these factors is vital for effective policy, resource allocation, and long-term planning.
Please join the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and the Alabama Association of Nonprofits’ webinar to learn more. Dr. Ryan Hankins, Executive Director of the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama (PARCA), will share Alabama-specific information in a recently published report called, “Mapping the Public–Nonprofit Partnership in Alabama.”
This webinar is part of a series of webinars offered by CFGB and AAN to provide conversations and resources in the evolving nonprofit landscape.
